2012 Working Certificate (WC)

27 dogs entered, 16 dogs qualified

To be eligible for a Working Certificate a Labrador Retriever must demonstrate the following:

  1. 1.  The dog is not gun shy;

  2. 2.  The dog will retrieve a shot bird at fifty (50) yards on land in light cover;

  3. 3.  The dog will retrieve two ducks from swimming water (if available) in

      immediate succession, to prove willingness to re-enter water; and,

  1. 4.  Steadiness is not required, so dog may be held on the line.

2012 Working Certificate Excellent (WCX)

7 dogs entered, 4 dogs qualified

To be eligible for a Working Certificate Excellent a Labrador Retriever must demonstrate the following:

  1. 1.  The dog is not gun shy;

  2. 2.  The dog will retrieve to hand, double land shot bird marks in light cover shot at approximately 75 yards;

  3. 3.  The dog will retrieve to hand double water shot ducks from swimming water;

  4. 4.  Dogs must be steady on the line but may be brought to line on a leash;

  5. 5.  Controlled break is acceptable; and,

  6. 6.  Honor is not required.
